Lobster Colour-Cut-And-Sew Project

Regular price $15.00

Here we have a quirky lobster friend, ready for you to personalise him into your very own work of art!

Image size (oval frame) approximately 20cm wide and 30cm long.

Colour him in with whatever fabric colouring technique takes your fancy - follow the manufacturer's instructions for fabric pens, crayons, and paints, or try a DIY technique from one of the many online resources - acrylic paints, food colouring, batik, tie-dying - let your creativity call the shots!

Top tip: Always wash the fabric first if planning to colour it in, to remove the sizing residue from the printing process.

Each of our colour-cut-and-sew projects is created from original artwork and designs by Cat Drayer, and custom-printed on heavy cotton fabric, and takes up approximately a fat quarter of fabric (sizes vary by design).

Contents:

  • One piece of printed cotton fabric
  • Instructions

You will need:

  • Sewing machine, or needle, and thread
  • Fabric scissors
  • Stuffing (if making a cushion) or other notions if making something else
  • Colouring supplies (as desired)
  • Iron (pressing the project is not essential, but will make it easier to sew; may also be required to set the colour, depending on manufacturer's instructions)

The projects come with simple instructions to make a small cushion, but there's no need to follow them if you prefer to freestyle - you could: make two oval cushions instead of one, using different fabric for the backing; use the whole fabric instead of just the oval and make a rectangular cushion(s); make a tote bag or a drawstring bag instead of a cushion; use the designs to applique onto another project; make teatowels or napkins; make a feature out of the main image as a pocket or a jacket back... the possibilities are endless!

We have limited stock of our brand-new range of colour-cut-and-sew projects at this introductory price.
